Wednesday

I am writing this on Tuesday night. I was so tired yesterday that I went to bed at ten.  I do not remember a thing until 7:00 a.m. when I woke to the sound of a city employee banging on my door.  I had to move my car out of my driveway because the water main broke right in front of my house.

I have gotten quite a bit on my to do list done, but not as much as I wanted, as you can tell if you were to check my etsy site.  I have plans for it.  I really, really do.

My garden is doing pretty well.  I pick a handful of green beans every other day and after a week I have enough to steam for a meal.  Yay! Molly's sunflower is starting to flower now, but the flower is pointed to the east of course, which is the fence. :) That's why they call them sunflowers I guess. I picked three tomatoes today.  I think I am going to puree them and freeze them to make spaghetti sauce with this fall.  I read an article about that BPA stuff they put on the inside of the cans and I thought it would be good to avoid them when I can.

I'd have taken a picture of the garden, but the batteries are dead in the camera.

Let's try for a more productive Wednesday! Yay!

Thus ends the month of June.

Baby Stuff

My mother asked me to make
a present for someone she works
with that is having a baby.  I thought
it would be cute to put a pocket on
the bib.

Misc.

On Father's Day I cut Molly's hair.
She wanted it just like her dad's, but
her hair is  a lot thicker than his,
so I did the best I could.  I meant to
get a lot of things done this weekend
that seemed to not get done. So this
will hopefully be an especially productive
week.  Cross fingers now.  :)

Molly's Babies

Molly wanted a Live Butterfly Garden for weeks.  I finally found one at ToysRUs on clearance.  It was well worth the sixteen bucks I put into it.  She was so protective of her little caterpillars, and though she was reluctant to let the butterflies go, she did like a good mother.  :)

Sigh!

I am trying to remain grounded.  Today involves meeting with a guy who says he can replace the siding. My face is still puffy, but I think it's better.  I feel like I should hide my swollen face when I'm in public, even though it's really not that noticeable, thus I feel like a battered wife or something.  :)

Here's a picture of Molly's latest creation.

What a Week Was Last Week

First the flooding on Monday and then got the roof replaced on Wednesday and Thursday.  As soon as the roofers left on Thursday the air conditioner stopped working again. It didn't get fixed until the next morning.  Went to visit friend Jamie on Friday.  Mike asked his dad if he could borrow his chain saw, but his dad didn't have a chain saw, so he decided to buy one.  Then he loaned it to Mike and Mike cut down most of the trees in the back yard.  Now there's a whole bunch of limbs and branches all over the back yard.

Some of the things going on are good, some not so good.   Today, though my face is all puffy.  I guess from the allergies.  It's never done it before though and it's worrisome.   I know things aren't that bad, but I have felt like I keep getting metaphorically punched in the face for the past couple months. Can I just have a week where nothing weird happens, just stay at home (or visit Jamie-that's not weird, I do that a lot) and relax or something.

From the mouths of babes, Molly just hugged my arm and said, "We have to be happy a lot."

Flash Floods

Uggh! It finally stopped raining-through the holes in my roof.  The garage flooded, but judging from the pictures on television, it could have been a lot worse.  Yet again I have been thrown off by the weather.  I shall return tomorrow.   :)

Current Garden Pics

As I said before, MOST of my garden has rebounded from that crazy hail storm. The tomato plants are going nuts. We were thinking that our backyard probably hasn't been used for such a purpose
in god only knows how long. The plants are getting everything they need. There are also
lots of earthworms in our yard. That blank spot is where I lost two green bean plants that were not very tall yet. Only one sunflower survived, but it has really taken off. It'll be taller than Molly soon. I also have tiny green beans growing. I'm so excited!

Gato-cicles

Ever since I found out that Gatorade has stopped using high fructose corn syrup I have been wanting to get some. I finally did, and it tastes SO much better. And frankly, it makes awesome frozen treats!

Zoo

We went to the zoo yesterday with our cousins.  It wasn't unbearably hot, but it is summer all the same.  :)

Hot

No air conditioning.  Too hot to blog.  Might go to mall.  Ahh! Not the mall.  No money anyway.  Sigh!

Grrr

Molly and I slept until ten. I am really not in the mood.  Sorry.

My garden has mostly recovered from the hail storm.  There are bunches of blooms on everything. I'm excited again.  Only one of Molly's sunflowers survived, but it is huge now.  I haven't messed with the flower bed and the grass is growing again. Still lots of work to do.  I meant to get the etsy stuff at least started on while Mike was off and Molly was at my mom's.  We ended up going thrift store shopping instead.  Mike got a new bike to ride to work though and he is much happier I think.
I need to make lunch.  I'm a bit irritable due to too much coffee and not enough food.

Pictures tomorrow.  I'll work on it tonight.

Without the Bells on My Toes

After a week and a half of staying up late and and relaxing, I'm not too excited to get back into the grind.  I also drank too much tea and had to keep getting up to go pee until two o'clock in the morning.  Uggh!
I have to go see if I can get the mortgage company to sign the check we got from the insurance company so we can get the roof fixed.  I have to do laundry, and I have to reorganize the kitchen, and this is actually a bit exciting, because Mike made me some drawers for the kitchen.  Yay!
I am super excited about Molly attending Pre-K.  We were supposed to go enroll her on Thursday night and we totally forgot.  I felt so horrible.   I felt like such a horrible parent.   But then we went up there the next day and they were still doing enrollment, so everything was fine.  I'm so excited for her.  I wish I had my whole life ahead me again. I would do some things very differently, let me tell you.  But that stuff is for Molly to figure out for herself.  Aww, life.
Stuff to do.  Post will be better tomorrow. Hopefully.
