I love February because of the sinus headaches! And unseasonably warm Februaries are the best. To make it all better, the baby is either having sinus headaches as well, or he's hit some developmental milestone where he has figured out that he can always sleep later. These two wonderful aspects of my life culminated Sunday night, Monday morning with me weeping and sobbing uncontrollably over my screaming boy. Mike came to the rescue though, and things are better now. I think the crying actually helped clear some stuff out. But I slept with that boy on my chest again last night which is not really fun. (Shakes fist violently at sky.)
Still plugging away!
More gift sets that I need to get up this afternoon. (Should I wake him up from his nap?)

A Few Products Going Up Over At Etsy
Here's what I've been working on lately.
I wanted to do something fun for Valentine's Day but I didn't get to it. So I'll try and get on that for next year. ;)
Cotton Face Scrubbies-Because I just want to make face scrubbies like everyone else! |
More soap and washcloth gift sets. |
A baby hat that by the time I got it made it didn't fit Linus anymore so I had no model! |

I Miss Sleep
It's been like a week, since I last posted, hasn't it? Has it? I'll have to look.
My boy is getting big and smiley. My girl is getting tall and has turned into a bit of a smarty pants. I am assuming this is age appropriate at this point. As someone who has a hard time allowing my own true emotions show, I'm mostly okay with it. I can't wait until I have two kids double teaming me though! :D
Our money situation has improved. I can finally pay off my epidural in a few more weeks! Yay!
The batteries that I found for the camera stopped working, so I had to buy some. I am about to make a pile of items to photograph this afternoon to post on etsy. Yay! And I am also making a Rapunzel wig out of my yellow yarn for Molly. Ha! It should be funny.
Pictures to come.

The Chocolate Bar
Here is the latest soap addition to my etsy shop. Enjoy! It leaves the lingering smell of chocolate on all your body parts.

Yay For May!
Molly didn't get to go to the zoo yesterday because of possible weather problems. I didn't think much about it, because she got to stay all day at school anyway. Then Mike called and said to get a few things together to take to the cellar because he would come home a bit earlier than usual. So, I turned on the tv and Mike Morgan on Channel 4 kept interrupting my commercial breaks for these big lectures about not taking any chances. Then the school called and a recorded voice told me to come get my kid. It was about forty minutes early. We hid in the cellar for about two hours. We did hear some thunder and it did rain a bit. But there was some bad stuff other places. Now I have indigestion, but I don't know if it's from being anxious or from pregnancy.
Before I became aware just how bad the weather was, I did get this posted on etsy. Here's pictures of more to come:
Thankful that all is well here. Baby boy's movements are stronger, no preterm labor. :0)

Two New Items
Check it OUT! Molly seems to enjoy the modeling. Hmm. Good? Not good? Pink and green hair clips and a new batch of patchouli soap-new and improved!
Also, my Valentine's Day Coupon Code on etsy is now in effect. Valentine11
If you'd like to receive your order before Valentine's Day, head over to my shop as soon as possible. I'm thinking February 7th or 8th at the latest.
Thanks!

Treasury!
I am so very excited that I made it into my first treasury on Friday!
I have to post more things! Must post more items! I want to be in more treasuries!
I decided to do my own treasury as well. It really wasn't that hard or mysterious after all. :0)
I didn't get Mike to help me with the stuff that I wanted him to help me with. I guess I'll have to see if I can do them on my own. I am woman hear me roar! I did go thrift storing and I got a whole bunch of t-shirts, but it sure does take a long time to cut them into yarn. Mike and Molly can only take so much Murder She Wrote while I sit in the middle of the living room floor and yell at the cats to get away from me!

Hump Day!
With my new found confidence in myself comes a passion like none I ever felt before. The self doubt, the inner critic---silenced! I won't miss it. Not one bit. I am me. Yay! Laugh if you want. I can't hear you over the internet anyway. ;0)
Mike sold some soap on ebay. We are a bit excited. Also if anyone is interested in season 2 of Northern Exposure, it's on auction. His user name is aspirinkid66.
I am not much of a fashion person, but I was inspired by the middle picture at the top on this blog. Well, not the shoes, of course. Can't do the shoes.
One set back in my life is that the yarn store near my house closed up shop. I think I always knew this would happen, but it still came too soon. I have had to start looking for fancy non Lion Brand yarn online. I did find some lovely cotton, and I'm checking out the websites for stores in the surrounding states. I have also found some lovely, lovely stuff on etsy. Here's a good example.
I read some advice from a much more successful etsy seller. The advice is to have at least 100 items for sale at all times and to have an etsy bill of 200 dollars every month. So I'm enlisting all of my friends and family to help me achieve the goal of being able to afford the 200 dollar a month bill! I don't think I'll be able to get there right away anyway, so you know do what you can. I will be looking into giving out a coupon code soon, as well. Thank you in advance! And thanks for all of the emotional support!
Patchouli Soap
OH! yeah! I also take special requests. It may take more time, especially if it's something I haven't done before, but email me or if you are on etsy, you can convo me. I like to learn new things.

Knittingbyheather!
Molly thinks it's funny to sing along to Spongebob Squarepants, but she calls him Pungebob Uglypants. This has been going on for months now. She also got sick in the middle of the night last night, and having never had to clean up vomit (except when people used to puke in the bathroom trash at Conoco when I worked there) before, I'm not happy this morning. She seems to be fine now which makes it all that much more annoying.
Anyhoozit, I've got a few new things up on etsy.
Raspberry soap
Still have a long list of this things to do and I got up later than I wanted to. I hope everyone has an enjoyable day. I will do my best to have one as well.
Bath matt with matching washcloth and hand towel.

First Blog Entry of the 2011
So, I begin my new year of blogging with my new found sense of confidence and resilience. I am still open to constructive criticism, of course, and I welcome all comments. Just no bully boy bull crap! Yay! Not that I've ever gotten any.
My etsy sale didn't go as I hoped, but I did sell two bars of Mike's tea tree oil soap. I'm super excited about possibly developing a follower. =0) Let's cross our fingers. The cat broke my printer though, I'm afraid, so I can't print off an invoice. (It was the old, much calmer cat, Charlie that did it this time!)
Mike has been working on his soap formulas and we are excited about the 8 oz. blue raspberry bars that are currently curing above the oven. I'm going to put up a couple of patchouli, melon, and pink raspberry bars on etsy this week if anyone is interested. Molly starts back to school tomorrow and I am not going to waste my time alone anymore. I'm so much more grateful for it now, but that's a whole other post that I probably won't ever write. =0)
Lots of work to do! I shall plug away with a cheerful disposition!

After Christmas Sale
I decided to mark everything on my etsy site way down for an after Christmas clearance sale. We'll see what happens.
Check out this.
And this.
Sale ends January 1, 2011.
I'm also hoping to raise a little cash in order to widen my yarn horizons and develop some more interesting items to sell in the New Year. Unfortunately, I'm not a designer, and I don't know how dependent I want to be on other people's patterns. That's one reason it's been so slow going. I do have lots of ideas though that I'm super excited about.
I hope everyone had a good Christmas, etc. I hope the New Year goes well for everyone. I'd like to give a shout out to my friend Ellen who is having an especially rough holiday season. Hang in there Ellen!

Etsy Update 8/3/10

I finally got the dusting mitts up on etsy. I also put up a listing for 2 for $15. The dust mops are also available for the twofer special.
I'm excited because now that I've got some stuff up, I can do some more creative things. :0) I've also got a couple baby shower gifts left to make.

This Week
I got up this morning, and I thought, I've been doing really well keeping up with the blogs for the past few weeks. Frankly, I'm tired of it. Well, I'm sure it's a temporary thing, but I thought perhaps I should take the week off. I'm going to focus my energies on other things, like the baby shower gift I am preparing for my sister-in-law. The shower is not till August 14, so you'll have to wait until then to see the pictures. :0)
Sigh, I don't get it, why do kids have to eat all the time? I have stuff to do!
Anyway, my mom will have Molly next Monday and Tuesday, so I will take advantage of my time alone. I think I want to focus more time on etsy this week too. Molly also starts Pre-K on August 2. She'll only be gone for a couple hours in the afternoons, and I'm sure it will take some time to figure out how to utilize my time. (I'm so worried that I will forget to pick her up.)
Write more in a week.

Homemade Soap
I have sensitive skin, eczema to be exact. It's nothing catching or terribly gross, but itchy all the same. Long story short, I have discovered that homemade soap is a wonderful thing. I've always been afraid to try different things because of embarrassing red itchy patches. (Don't even get me started on eye creams.)
The homemade soap that I have tried so far is made by a super nice lady named Anne living on a farm in Wisconsin. So far I have tried the goat's milk soap, and it is FAN-tastic. Most of the soaps are $4 a bar, which is well worth it, and everyone knows what a cheap skate I am!

Mike also loves the soap so much that he's been accumulating the supplies needed to make his own soap. I'm going to have him put oat flour in it and see how that helps my skin. I'm excited.

Wednesday
I am writing this on Tuesday night. I was so tired yesterday that I went to bed at ten. I do not remember a thing until 7:00 a.m. when I woke to the sound of a city employee banging on my door. I had to move my car out of my driveway because the water main broke right in front of my house.
I have gotten quite a bit on my to do list done, but not as much as I wanted, as you can tell if you were to check my etsy site. I have plans for it. I really, really do.
My garden is doing pretty well. I pick a handful of green beans every other day and after a week I have enough to steam for a meal. Yay! Molly's sunflower is starting to flower now, but the flower is pointed to the east of course, which is the fence. :) That's why they call them sunflowers I guess. I picked three tomatoes today. I think I am going to puree them and freeze them to make spaghetti sauce with this fall. I read an article about that BPA stuff they put on the inside of the cans and I thought it would be good to avoid them when I can.
I'd have taken a picture of the garden, but the batteries are dead in the camera.
Let's try for a more productive Wednesday! Yay!
Thus ends the month of June.

Plum Jelly
My maternal grandmother, now in a nursing home with Alzheimer's, used to make plum jelly when I was a kid. I loved it. I miss it. I want some. A couple years ago, my mom got a hold of some plum juice and we made some to hand out at Christmas. The two jars I kept are gone now. I want it. I want it. Arrrrrgh!!!
I found some at www.deepcreekdesigns.etsy.com. Only $13.50 for three pint jars seems like a good deal to me, but, and I do understand why, the shipping is $11.95. I can't add right now because of the headache, but I need more money!!!!!!!! :)
I hope they keep it in stock for a bit longer. They also have blueberry jam that sounds just lovely. Sigh!
Have a good Tuesday!
