My computer is cleaned and everything is saved on an external harddrive. That was a hundred bucks down the drain just because some a-hole has to use his technological genius power for evil rather than good. I'm not sure where my pictures are, so this is another short and sweet blog.
I got on Facebook today, so I got my fix. :) I joined a group that was something like : Excuse me, but don't you realize Sarah Palin is insane? It made me laugh. She has a million fans on Facebook, wouldn't it be great if that site could get more fans? I try not to let that stuff get to me, but they keep talking about her on the news and stuff. I just want to scream, "If you'd stop doing stories on her, people would forget about her!"
I'm still working on my husband's sock, but I've started a crotchet hat with ribbon yarn. I'm very excited about it. I finished the Swiffer sock, so I'll have to post it on Facebook and see if my friend still wants it. If not, I'm sure I can use it. I made a cotton one too and tried it out. It works as good as the disposable ones at least.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have a better post.

Tuesday
My computer has a nasty virus, so today's blog will be short and sweet. I'm working off my husband's laptop and I don't like it because it has no mouse. I'm having Facebook withdrawal because I know that's where the virus came from and I don't want to infect the laptop. Hopefully Mike can get it worked out.
I'm working on his sock and I've gotten to the heel part and I just don't get it. I wonder if I could use some other yarn and do a practice run but with only two needles. I think Ill try that. Sorry no pictures today. I'm rather grumpy about the whole computer thing.
Have a good day anyway!

Mondays
I have decided to designate Mondays as catchall days on my blog. I will do updates on the sales of my products and my projects. I will also add in anything that I haven't already fit in anywhere else, like links and such. My friend Jamie wants one of my scrubbie 2pks, so that is sale #1 although it is not through etsy or shophandmade. I still need to develop a banner and an avatar for etsy. I also want to do some more fancy stuff with the blog, but I'm not sure how to do all that. I'll have to experiment with different stuff.
A friend of mine wanted a reusable Swiffer sock, of which she showed me two different patterns. I am currently working on this project. I think one acrylic (for the dry Swiffer) and one cotton (for the wet Swiffer) will make for a great combo. (craftstylish.com/item/44816/how-to-make-a-reversible-swiffer-sock) The other project I'm working on is my husband's socks. Hopefully, I'll get them done by Valentine's Day.
An added note to yesterday's post: My grandmother got wind of my sock making and sent me her grandmother's double point needles. My grandmother hasn't used them, so she's kept them all these years in the same envelope that she received them in. I don't know my great-great grandmother's name at this time or what side the needles came from, but I'm very excited about it. The name on the env
elope is my great-great grandmother's sister, I think my mother said. I need to find out about it. The needles are a bit dirty and rusty so I haven't used them yet. I'm fascinated though by the fact that they were used in 1942. I'll have to clean them up and use them.

Socks!

I made socks for my husband's nieces for Christmas this year. I went to Michael's with my forty percent coupons, proud of my thriftiness, and bought the Patons Stretch Socks yarn. I decided to do this the week of Thanksgiving, thinking surely I had enough time to make three pairs of socks. I'd never made socks before, but I knew with each sock it would go faster and faster. I spent whole days yelling at my daughter to leave me alone while I knitted feverishly. By the time the day after Christmas came and we headed to my sister-in-law's house for the family get together, I was sick of socks, and I still had two of them left to make. I vowed I would mail them in a couple weeks feeling a bit of a failure.
I finally finished the last pair last Thursday (That's February 4). I took a couple pictures, thinking it would make a good blog subject, because I thought the socks turned out quite nice. I used a free pattern from Patons that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. This tube sock pattern was easy too, as I didn't have to make a heel.

On the plus side I have enough yarn left that I think I could make some newborn socks out of it. I also started a pair of socks for my husband. This pair will have heels. So, while I may have had a setback with the socks, I have not been defeated!
